About Nurse Midwifery

Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) are registered nurses who have completed additional education at the master’s level and certification in women’s health. Nurse midwives treat and care for a variety of women’s health needs through all stages of life, including prenatal, birth, postpartum, gynecologic and family planning.

Nurse midwives provide patients with greater access and choices, with a special focus on prevention, wellness, holistic care and minimal intervention. They diagnose and treat a wide range of health problems and also focus on health education and counseling.

Nurse midwives consult our physicians when complications arise to provide specialized care as needed.
