Dr. Walker received his medical degree from the University of the West Indies and practiced Family Medicine in Jamaica. After moving to the United States, he completed a year of training in Family Medicine at The University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He then completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he was privileged to be taught by the World renowned Urogynecologist - Professor Kermit Krantz. He received further training during his residency in the field of laparoscopic surgery as a participant in the Mid West laparoscopic training laboratory for two years.
Dr. Walker joined the Loch Haven OB/GYN Group in 2003 and currently serves as the Medical Director for the Mother-Infant Postpartum Unit at Florida Hospital. He loves to share his knowledge with others and currently serves as the Assistant Clinical Professor for Florida State University (FSU) and the OB/GYN residency program at Winnie Palmer Hospital. Dr. Walker is also a firm believer in giving back to the community and the underprivileged, and he currently serves as a member of the Florida Hospital SHARES medical mission team, offering medical service to the underserved in areas such as Chiapas, Mexico.
Dr. Walker has published papers in medical journals and has won research awards. In addition, he has won a number of teaching awards, including the prestigious “Faculty of the Year” award for Florida State University College of Medicine in 2008. He was also honored by his colleagues and nurses by being recognized as being the “The Most Outstanding Obstetrician” at Florida Hospital for two years (2006, 2008). He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health and the International Urogynecological Association.
