I switched to Loch Haven OB/GYN when my pregnancy turned high-risk. I later developed a severe form of preeclampsia that put my life and my baby’s life at risk. The condition can cause seizure, stroke and liver rupture, causing you to bleed to death, and can cause the placenta to separate. Three months before my due date, Dr. Boone had to perform an emergency c-section. At one pound, 12 ounces, the doctors had to resuscitate baby Joelle as soon as she was out of my womb. Joule and I feel extremely grateful to be not just being alive, but happy and healthy. This being my first pregnancy, I had no idea what to expect, let alone with all the complications that arose. My Loch Haven doctors and nurses walked me through my pregnancy every step of the way. I felt at home at Loch Haven, and got much more than I expected.
